Age Africa 2019 " The Ride for Malawi"

Embassy of the Republic of Malawi in the United States , Fri, Aug 30, 2019

His Excellency Ambassador Edward Sawerengera and the staff at the Embassy of Malawi will be joining the rest of AGE Africa Board of Directors in AGE Africa’s Ride for Malawi on September 7, 2019, in Washington, DC. The Ambassador and the Malawi Embassy Team would be honored to have your support as we work on raising $5,000 of our team goal towards AGE Africa’s $100,000 fundraising goal.

Since 2005, AGE Africa has provided 345 four-year scholarships to girls in secondary school. Of those recipients, 95% completed secondary school, and almost half moved on to university or other post-secondary schools.

The money raised through The Ride for Malawi pays for scholarships that include school supplies, school uniforms, and toiletries for AGE Africa scholars. In some cases, AGE Africa provides a small stipend for transportation and groceries.

As parents, we know we want the best for our children and that includes a good education. We know that access to education in Malawi can be difficult for some. The Malawi Embassy Team and I are committed to helping AGE Africa and their efforts to ensure that girls in Malawi have what they need to access an education.

On behalf of the Malawi Embassy Team and AGE Africa, zikomo kwambiri. Your support today would mean a lot to me and the AGE Africa Scholars. Feel free to share this message with your family and friends. Together we can change a nation one girl at a time.
