His Excellency Ambassador Edward Sawerengera on Friday December 8th and 11th, 2017 hosted an art exhibition at the Embassy of Malawi to the USA in Washington DC, celebrating art by a Malawian artist Kenneth Namalomba a young and upcoming artist in Malawi. When you look at his talent, it gives you hope that our youth are geared to take Malawi to new heights and that is not only in art, but also in other sectors.

In his paintings; the stories depict the reality on the ground for the African child than the ordinarily stereotypical way. Through his art, you will learn the conflict that exists between the inner self and the person that the society expects one to be, which is often, characterized by a mask hiding the conflict and a sealed mouth which indicates the inability of people to speak out on their situations. He does, all this, through his movement called “our voice through art” in which he makes himself to be the voice of the voiceless.
