27/10/2016: WELCOME AND INTRODUCTORY MEETING OF U.S CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT AND SENIOR DIRECTOR WITH MALAWIAN AMBASSADOR IN WASHINGTON DC.

The newly appointed Ambassador of The Republic of Malawi Mr. Edward Yakobe Sawerengera was formally welcomed by Mr. Scott Eisner,President and Ms. Danielle Walker, Senior Director of the U.S Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C on the 26th October,2016, during a meeting that was held at Malawi Embassy in D.C. Mr. Eisner welcomed the Ambassador and gave a brief background of the organization and some of the works they have done with Malawi, in his remarks he expressed his gratitude towards the Malawi government for its good relationship with the U.S Chamber of Commerce and assured the Ambassador of his commitment and willingness to work with him towards achieving the goals of the Malawi Government towards its development; in the sectors of Energy, Agriculture, Education among others. He also added that he would like to create a link between potential American investors, with Malawians in both government and private sectors, as this will create awareness of many other bussiness sectors in Malawi that are not well promoted on the international market such as Fashion, Pottery, Wooden sculptures and many others. In his response, the Ambassador thanked the U.S Chamber of Commerce for their continued support to the Malawi government and that he looks forward to working with them during his time of service here in washington D.C.
