03/06/2015: MALAWI INVESTMENT FORUM (IMF), JUNE 29TH TO 30TH, 2015
The Malawi Embassy in Washington D.C.,would like to inform all interested persons that the Government of Malawi through its Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Malawi Investment Trade Centre (MITC) has organized the Malawi Investment Forum (MIF) to take place in Lilongwe, Malawi on 29th and 30th June, 2015.
The forum will offer an opportunity for networking for 300 participants comprising of foreign and local companies and corporations, investors, high level government officials and development partners, with the objective of attracting direct investment, joint ventures, Public – Private Partnerships (PPS), among others. During the forum, the Government of Malawi will market its projects for either Public-Private Partners or 100% concessionaires. Some of the projects are listed in the Compendium of Investment Projects, which was developed by MITC.
The forum will focus on six sectors as follows:
- Agriculture and Agro-processing
- Financial services
We, therefore, request interested American businesses, institutions, relevant government departments and agencies to consider attending the forum.
The MITC has contracted an operator who will be in charge of all logistical arrangements pertaining to the event, including but not limited to provision of tourist safari packages for the days around the event.
The minimum generic criteria for attendance are that the participants must be decision – makers, their business must be considering significant investment and must have a credible track record.

The forum will be officially opened by the President of Malawi, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
